Prospecting for clients takes persistence, but it’s easier than panning for gold. Here are a few tips to help locate new clients and grow your business:


1. Network! Network! Network! Your business card is the cheapest (and often most effective) way to introduce your company to new prospects. Introduce yourself to everyone and give them your card.

3. If your product or service targets a special interest group, try running a small ad in or renting subscriber lists from trade publications, association newsletters, or business directories.


4. If your product or service targets a much broader audience, consider renting a list in test quantities from a professional broker. Keep in mind that most list rentals require a minimum order of 5,000 names and cost from $50 to $200 per 1,000 names for one-time usage.
